About me

My name is Mária Lomnická.

I am an artistic ceramicist who, out of love for the craft, has worked her way up to running her own business.
I was professionally trained directly at Keramika Ľubietová, where I not only studied but also worked. During this period, I intensively focused on wheel throwing and developed my skills under the guidance of experienced masters of traditional craftsmanship.
I specialize in handmade ceramics created on the potter’s wheel – a traditional technique that requires precision, sensitivity, and years of practice. Thanks to this, each of my pieces carries a unique signature and the soul of the craft.
I create original ceramic products that combine quality, craftsmanship, and aesthetics. Each piece is the result of my dedication, love for detail, and respect for tradition.

A piece of history

Ľubietová ceramics have deep roots reaching back to the first half of the 17th century. In 1651, a potters' guild was established in Ľubietová, proving the developed and respected nature of this craft in the region. After the decline of medieval mining, pottery became an important part of local culture and economy.
A significant milestone was the revival of ceramic production in 1947, initiated by experts in folk art and representatives of state institutions of that time. Their goal was to continue the rich tradition and preserve craft techniques for future generations. In this spirit, the company Keramika Ľubietová was established, becoming a center of artistic production and education of new ceramicists – among whom I had the honor to be.

Products

Handmade with a quality certificate

My products are certified and tested in an accredited laboratory, ensuring their safety and health compliance. They meet all valid standards for food contact and are suitable for everyday use.

How to care for ceramics

If you decide to wash the products in a dishwasher, I recommend using a short program with a lower temperature and leaving a small gap between individual pieces to avoid mechanical damage. This way, the ceramics will maintain their beauty and color.
